The best way to ensure you are buying the correct shock for YOUR application is to flex out your vehicle with all suspension and shock mounts ready to go and measure extended and collapsed lengths.  This is the ONLY way if you have modified your suspension and shock mounts.

We can give you a good guess based on our expierience...but you REALLY should measure to make sure.   For typical Samurai SPOA with new shock mounts - right around 26" extended and 15" collapsed is what we normally find.   If you've got YJ springs - more like 32" extended and 18.5" collapsed.
